I got this really cool game called Shadow Hearts 3: From the New World a couple of weeks ago and I loooove it so far! The battle system is strange but in a good way! It keeps you on your toes all the time. If you don’t hit the X button at the right time so it lands on the hit areas, as the ring spins, then you won’t attack at all. The combos add an extra element by requiring you to hit the button that appears on the spinning ring before it stops or your combo will break. It can be a little overwhelming at first but I love that it doesn’t let you get too comfortable. Your battles will never be lazy battles.

As for these two pictures: they’re of Frank! This guy is hilarious! And he has the weirdest accent. He’s so energetic and flamboyant and just plain weird. I took these shots when you first meet him in the game. :) That’s one funny encounter. This game is awesome and every RPG lover out there should try it out if they haven’t already! :D

I’ve been playing Fallout: New Vegas on my laptop for a while now and I’ve been taking screen shots as well. What I have been noticing is that every time I take screen shots I’m framing it as if I were looking through my camera. So that gave me an idea to post a screenshot or more a day and naming my little series Old Sights of New Vegas: Through the Eyes of an Amateur Photographer. Hope you like it. :)

Guess who’s watching Boys Over Flowers? Yup, me. I had started reading the manga back in high school and got pretty damn far but then I had some overdue books at the library and couldn’t take out books anymore cuz of my damn fine. This was before I knew about reading manga online. I honestly just like to have the physical book there but I can’t afford to keep buying manga so I have to read it online now. Poop. But when I found out a while back that there was a Boys Over Flowers k-drama I almost had a heart attack! It’s hilarious! Just as funny as the manga! Even though there are changes and things that didn’t happen in the manga it still works very well for the drama. I’m about half way through and I can’t wait to watch some more episodes soon. :) Although Jun Pyo is being an asshole now..not contacting Jan Di for 6 months and then ignoring her in Macao. Tsk tsk.

Pokemon...the other side

What better way to come back to Tumblr than with some random thoughts. :D While I was talking to my boyfriend today about Pokemon, it hit me: Pokemon can totally be seen as a story of enslavement. It’s kind of funny but sad. Lol. He was saying he was gonna catch me with a pokeball and so that’s when I said that he wanted to capture and trap me in this tiny ass ball so that when he feels like it I can come out and fight for him. The few times I would come out of the pokeball (this is considering that he wants to be a pokemon master and so he’s gonna collect all the pokemon) would be to force me to prove my worth to him in battle or whatever else he may want to do with his pokemon, because if I don’t I’m gonna be placed in some box with the rest of the rejected pokemon that weren’t good enough for him.

Lol. It’s a tale of hardship and sorrow and enslavement masked by cute pokemon that can’t really communicate with humans. This is where the beauty of the enslavement rests: the lack of understanding between pokemon and humans is what allows this enslavement. You think that because a pokemon is repeatedly saying “pika pika” it means they’re happy? No, they could be crying in pain and trying to tell others to help it or for the next victims to escape before the human catches them.

And don’t get me started on those pokeballs: they’re red, the color of blood and anger, set against white, the color of peace and tranquility. It’s a ploy to make you believe the white is welcoming the pokemon into a wonderful little world inside that pokeball, when in reality it’s the red that dominates. Lol.

I love my boyfriend, of course, so this is not to bash him or has some weird underlying meaning other than what I stated, so don’t worry Luis! <3 I just found this hilarious because of the connections I made over a simple conversation. And I love pokemon too so sorry pokemon! No hard feelings! I love you too!

I thought I first heard this song, “Y Si Fuera Ella,” when I listened to the version by SHINee but it sounded slightly familiar to me. I was also taken by the title since it was in Spanish. So I decided to look it up and I found out that SHINee did a cover of this song and it’s originally by Alejandro Sanz, who is well known in the Hispanic community. I was surprised to see that since I wasn’t aware of the extent to which Spanish has influenced Asian countries. It makes me happy to see that a Korean boy band decided to do a cover of a song by a Spanish musician, one that I have known since I was a kid. Both versions of this song are beautiful and I absolutely love them both. This song is beautiful yet sad and every time I hear it I can’t help but feel sad. I don’t mind though because at the same time I’m enjoying this song. If you think of SHINee’s other songs like Lucifer or Get Down, it’s very different and such a pleasant surprise (of course that doesn’t mean that I don’t like those songs). Every time I hear “Y Si Fuera Ella,” it’s like a breath of fresh air gently sweeping across my face. I posted the video by Alejandro Sanz because I really think it’s worth listening to whether you’re a SHINee fan or not. I would’ve also posted the one by SHINee alongside it but I can’t do that or I’m just too inexperienced in the ways of Tumblr to figure it out. >.< I hope other people enjoy this song as much as I do.
